Quick answer: what Hostinger really costs in 2026
Hostinger's cheapest advertised rate is $2.49 per month for Premium web hosting, but only as a 48-month prepaid term ($119.52 upfront), and it renews at $10.99 per month. Every Hostinger plan follows the same pattern: a low introductory monthly equivalent, a long upfront commitment, and a renewal price that is two to four times higher.
For most first-time buyers the sensible shortlist is Premium for one simple website, Business if you want daily backups and more storage, and Cloud Startup only when a growing store or busier site needs dedicated resources. VPS plans are a separate, self-managed product and not an automatic upgrade.
How we checked these prices
This is a research-based price guide, not a live price feed. On October 19, 2026 we read Hostinger's own US pricing, cloud hosting, VPS hosting and refund-policy pages, and cross-checked the figures against independent price trackers including Cybernews, HostingPickers and ServerWorth. Where sources disagree, we say so and point you to the checkout, which is the only place that confirms your actual price.

How Hostinger pricing works: the three things to understand
1. The monthly number is a division, not a monthly bill
Hostinger states that all plans are paid upfront and that the monthly rate is the total plan price divided by the number of months. A "$2.49/mo" offer on a 48-month term is a single charge of $119.52 at checkout, before taxes. Hostinger pricing page.
2. The lowest rate requires the longest term
The biggest discounts are attached to 48-month terms on web and cloud hosting and 24-month terms on VPS. Shorter terms cost more per month. If you are not ready to commit for years, compare the 12-month price, not the headline figure.
3. The renewal price is the real long-term cost
When the introductory term ends, plans renew at a substantially higher rate. Independent trackers measured jumps of roughly 2.5x to 4x across Hostinger's range. Budget for the renewal from day one. HostingPickers renewal analysis, October 2026.
Web hosting plans: Premium and Business
These shared hosting plans are where most beginners should start. Hostinger's own US page, checked October 19, 2026, advertised the following on a 48-month term. Source: Hostinger pricing page.
| Plan | Introductory equivalent | 48-month upfront total | Advertised renewal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium | $2.49/month | $119.52 | $10.99/month |
| Business | about $3.99/month | about $191.52 | $16.99/month |
Premium: the budget starting point
The checked Premium offer includes 3 websites, 20 GB SSD storage, weekly backups, a free domain for the first year and CDN. It suits a first blog, portfolio or small brochure site whose content changes infrequently. The 20 GB storage and weekly backups are the two limits most likely to matter.
Business: the better default for active sites
Independent trackers list Business at about $3.99 per month on the same 48-month term, renewing at $16.99 per month, with more storage and daily backups. HostingPickers plan comparison. If you update your site regularly, the daily backups alone can justify the difference. Note that third-party trackers sometimes label this tier "Unlimited"; plan names and inclusions vary by offer, so confirm the exact product in your cart.
Cloud hosting plans: for growing stores and busier sites
Cloud hosting gives your site dedicated resources instead of sharing with as many neighbors. Hostinger's cloud page advertises Cloud Startup at $7.99 per month on a 48-month term, renewing at $25.99 per month, with 4 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM, 100 GB NVMe storage and unlimited websites. Source: Hostinger cloud hosting page.
| Plan | Introductory equivalent | Advertised renewal | Key resources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloud Startup | $7.99/month | $25.99/month | 4 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 100 GB NVMe |
| Cloud Professional | about $15.99/month | about $44.99/month | more CPU, RAM and storage |
| Cloud Enterprise | about $29.99/month | about $64.99/month | highest shared-cloud tier |
Professional and Enterprise figures: HostingPickers, October 2026. Cloud plans make sense when a store or content site has outgrown shared hosting limits. They do not make a slow, heavy site fast by themselves.
VPS hosting plans: KVM 1 to KVM 8
Hostinger's VPS is self-managed: you get full root access and are responsible for your own server administration. It is not a hands-off upgrade from shared hosting. Prices below are from Hostinger's VPS page on a 24-month term, checked October 19, 2026. Source: Hostinger VPS hosting page.
| Plan | Introductory equivalent | Advertised renewal | Resources |
|---|---|---|---|
| KVM 1 | $6.49/month | $11.99/month | 1 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 50 GB NVMe, 4 TB bandwidth |
| KVM 2 | $8.79/month | $14.99/month | 2 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 100 GB NVMe, 8 TB bandwidth |
| KVM 4 | $12.99/month | $28.99/month | 4 vCPU, 16 GB RAM, 200 GB NVMe, 16 TB bandwidth |
| KVM 8 | $25.99/month | $49.99/month | 8 vCPU, 32 GB RAM, 400 GB NVMe, 32 TB bandwidth |
VPS plans include weekly backups, a 1 Gbps network and one dedicated IP. Daily backups are a paid upgrade. Only choose a VPS if you or someone on your team can administer a Linux server. Independent VPS feature verification: ServerWorth.
WordPress hosting, email and the extras that add up
WordPress hosting costs the same as web hosting
Independent trackers confirm that Hostinger's WordPress and WooCommerce plan versions cost the same as the equivalent web hosting tier at every term, including renewal. Choose based on features, not on expecting a different price. HostingPickers, October 2026.
Business email starts cheap but renews higher
Business email starts at about $0.39 per month per mailbox on a long term and renews at about $1.59 per month per mailbox. Cybernews Hostinger pricing guide. Mailboxes bundled "free for the first year" become a paid cost from year two; include that in your budget.
The free domain is free for one year only
Plans that include a free domain cover the first year of registration. The domain renews at Hostinger's standard rate afterwards, and domain renewals are not refundable. A "free domain" is a first-year discount, not a permanent inclusion.
Renewal prices: plan for month 49, not just month 1
On the 48-month term, the introductory price covers four full years, so the renewal jump arrives in month 49. That makes the real comparison the combined cost of the first term plus at least one renewal period, not the advertised monthly rate.
- Premium example: $119.52 for the first 48 months, then renewals at the advertised $10.99 per month. A six-year span costs roughly $119.52 plus 24 months at the renewal rate, before taxes.
- Cloud Startup example: $383.52 for the first 48 months, then renewals at $25.99 per month.
- VPS example: KVM 1 renews after 24 months at $11.99 per month, so the lower introductory term arrives sooner than on web hosting.
If the renewal price does not fit your budget, a shorter term or a different host may be the honest answer, even if the introductory deal looks bigger. Our full Hostinger review covers performance, support and usability beyond price.
The 30-day money-back guarantee: what it does and does not cover
Hostinger's refund policy covers new purchases and renewals of web, cloud and KVM VPS hosting plans within 30 days of payment, with important exclusions. Source: Hostinger refund policy.
- Refundable: new web, cloud and VPS hosting plans and Hostinger Email, within 30 days, when paid by a method other than cryptocurrency.
- Not refundable: domain renewals, completed domain transfers, domain privacy protection, Google Workspace, VPS control panel licenses, VPS upgrades and AI credits, among others.
- Caution: payments made in cryptocurrency are not refunded, and VPS refunds have additional conditions such as a limit on repeated refunds. ServerWorth policy summary.

Which Hostinger plan should you buy?
- First blog, portfolio or simple business site: Premium on a term you are genuinely comfortable prepaying. Its 20 GB storage and weekly backups are the realistic limits.
- Active blog or small WooCommerce store: Business, for daily backups and more storage. The roughly $1.50 per month introductory difference is small next to the value of daily restore points.
- Growing store or busier site hitting shared limits: Cloud Startup, and only after you have confirmed your site actually needs the extra resources.
- Developers and custom applications: a KVM VPS, only if you can administer a server yourself. Otherwise compare managed alternatives.

Frequently asked questions about Hostinger pricing
Is Hostinger really $2.49 per month?
Only as a 48-month prepaid equivalent. The checked US offer bills $119.52 upfront and renews at $10.99 per month. A true month-to-month subscription costs more and is not the advertised figure.
How much does Hostinger cost after renewal?
The checked offers renew at $10.99 per month for Premium, $16.99 for Business, $25.99 for Cloud Startup and from $11.99 for VPS KVM 1. Independent trackers measure renewal jumps of roughly 2.5x to 4x the introductory rate.
Which Hostinger plan is best value?
For most new sites, Business is the best balance: daily backups and more storage for a modest increase over Premium. Premium is acceptable for a simple site that changes rarely. "Best value" always depends on your real needs, not the discount percentage.
Does Hostinger have hidden fees?
The pattern to watch is not hidden fees but dated costs: renewals, second-year domain and email charges, paid daily backups on VPS, and non-refundable extras. All are disclosed in Hostinger's terms, so read the checkout summary and refund policy carefully.
Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
Eligible hosting plans can be refunded within 30 days, but domain renewals, transfers, privacy protection and several other products are excluded, and cryptocurrency payments are not refunded. Check the refund policy for your exact purchase.
